Pileated Woodpecker

After annoying a Great Blue Heron for a photo op, moved along about 10 meters and came across a pileated woodpecker hammering at a snag in the canal.  I haven't seen one since the mid-90's though there was a previous sighting listed in the area for this year.  When I returned after my loop walk of the Fill, it had moved on, only the floating chunks of debris in the water showing that any bird had passed through.
